The Village of Holly is located in Northern Oakland County Michigan approximately fifteen minutes south of Flint Michigan. The Village of Holly is a small community of 6,086 residents. During the Holiday season and special events; population can increase by 2,000 people according to the chamber of commerce. The Village’s economy depends largely on the tourist drawn by our historic downtown area shops and restaurants, and the annual events held in the Village.
The department’s primary response area is 3 square miles consisting of residential, light & heavy industrial, commercial, and rural. On average the department responds to approximately 1,000 fire and medical calls for service including mutual aid request to other area departments. The Holly Fire Department provides 24/7 response for all types of emergencies including Fire Suppression, Rescue Services, HazMat Operations, Technical services, Basic & Advanced Life Support medical care and transport. The fire department also provides fire prevention services to 5 local schools, and two senior living centers.
The fire department has a staff of 40+ including a full time Chief, part time, and paid-on-call members. The station is staffed 7 days a week 24 hours a day with at least two personnel.
